"Thinus and his fabulous team hosted our 50th birthday party last evening. Everything was perfect and beautiful and the food prepared by his master chef brother was delicious and very generous portions! You have got to try their lamb on the spit and pampoen koekies! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were so friendly, efficient and polite. Highly recommend!!!"

"We were looking for an outing where we could take our Great Dane, and this venue popped up. As always, we called ahead to confirm that mini horses are accepted and they are As we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles, and a water bowl was delivered even before the menus As it was late afternoon, we opted for deserts and ordered milkshakes, scones and waffles. It was all so delicious!!! Thank you to the wonderful staff. Next time, we will most definitely order lunch. We had a quick walk afterwards, and the area is well maintained and very clean. Excellent walks, beautiful setting!"

"We attended the Farm to Table market early Saturday morning, hosted by Ouma Isie's Tea Garden. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast after walking around. The market had lovely stalls selling fresh products. Such a lovely atmosphere, the big trees and garden settings makes it so special."

"The service was awesome.. Chose the platter special today, but it was a bit dry.. Was value for money, though, at R155, including a glass of wine... Loved the setting of Smuts House and th fact that Naka my dog was welcomed by the owner who brought her some ice water.."

"What a beautiful serene place this is, you are taken back to the gentle days of afternoon tea's or lunches in an atmosphere that feels familiar....like coming home. It was the perfect place to host my graduation get together with family and friends with the bonus of being able to bring our beloved dogs. The staff are truly amazing, actually they are fantastic. The food is great and Ouma Isie Smuts's (first woman to issue pilots with their wings) tea garden and restaurant is officially my place of peace and reflection. Thank you again to all the staff who made us feel special. I'll be back for coffee a good book and a look forward to walking through the house and trails."

"BEST DOG FRIENDLY PLACE IN PRETORIA! Love the peaceful vibe and the fountains are amazing! We have not visited a while and WOW the changes are AMAZING! This would make a stunning wedding venue . The service and food is out of this world. I still think the fact that the owner personally make a point of ensuring that every client is satisfied is the reason for the success. Always great service at affordable prices They actually have doggy bowls and breakfast! Love this!"

"Always love going here, we were there 6 April 2025 to have some tea and milkshakes.I have been going here since 1998 and it is still awesome to go.I find the Smuts house and Oumas Isie's tea garden very peaceful always when go there.I have always enjoyed their scones over the years and still like having it there. The scenery is always lovely and the place has such a historic atmosphere which I love.We sat near the play area for the kids, towards the bottom of the tea garden, unfortunately this is also a smoking area and a area for most dog owners.Yes, the tea garden is dog friendly. Both dogs and smoking can be hazardous to children. Some dogs are not used to kids also.I was quiet dissapointed about this being a smoking and dog area with kids in the mix. This is the only complaint I have. The food, service and atmosphere is always great.Would highly recommend going if you have dogs or enjoy a good smoke outdoors, but this is not nice for some people and I would recommend sitting in the inside shed at the tea garden."
